Hi! I’m Zoey!

At my core, I’m a storyteller, empath, eldest daughter, and your biggest cheerleader.

Growing up, I was a painfully shy kid (my mom and dad love to tell me I didn’t talk until I was nearly three years old!) But as soon as someone put a camera in my hand, I felt like I had found my purpose and voice in this crazy world – to document the beauty of life in all its stages, from lifetime achievements to mundane routines. As cringy as my early photography days were (thank you Tumblr and Picnik), photography laid the foundation for my love of capturing others’ stories and lives.

Though I began my professional photography career in sports, I’ve been so lucky to fall in love with capturing weddings, engagements, portraits, maternity sessions, and so many other special moments and stories. I truly believe that we should always celebrate love in all its forms, preserve moments throughout our lives (the monumental and the mundane), and tell stories to keep our legacies going.

Very fitting to the eldest daughter trope, I thrive in chaos. Whether it’s keeping your big day on track, or making sure you’re fully present in the moment, I’m here to keep you feeling relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera.

I’m a Midwestern gal at heart, but love traveling (especially in the mountains and by the ocean). Whether you’re located in Chicagoland or anywhere else in the world, I’m eager to capture your memories. I currently call Chicago home with my fiancé, Rob, and our two cats, Manny and Beans.

Where I call home:

I’m a Midwesterner at heart! I was lucky enough to grow up on the shores of Lake Michigan in the Mitten state, and attended the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) After a quick stint in Buffalo, NY post-college, I’ve called Chicago home – living out my childhood dreams of living in the big city I grew up visitng.
When I'm not taking photos:

I’m probably planning my wedding (2027! eek!), going on a walk, curling up with a book (memoirs are my favorite!), traveling, planning my life on Pinterest, trying to cook a fun meal, catching up on the phone with my long-distance besties, or bothering my cats. They need photos, too!
Types of photography I love:

My photography journey started out in sports journalism. I have been lucky enough to cover a number of sports teams at the University of Michigan, namely football, basketball, gymnastics, and hockey. The same storytelling aspect that I love in the sports world directly translates to the work I do to capture weddings and families!
What I value most:

Love in all its forms, capturing the most important and mundane moments of life, showing kindness and compassion to everyone around me, and practicing gratitude!
